As one whose undergraduate preparations were for veterinary medicine, and as I grow older with many additional years of experience and study and observation, I continually marvel at the blatant departures of the so-called health industry from what is known, a.k.a. science.
However, having observed this continual and deliberate departure from real science, this continual and deliberate misapplication of science, this continual and deliberate ignorance of the clear connection of physiological and cellular attributes between animals and humans, I find myself even more amazed when I encounter medical doctors who actually acknowledge the truth and apply it for the benefit of humans. It is such a wonderful thing to observe and so rarely encountered, that I find it hard to believe when I see it.
Dr. Brownstein is one such medical doctor. I love his expositions concerning Iodine and its necessity in our bodies through proper nutrition.
He provides information via videos as well as articles at his web site and blog. One video regarding the necessity of iodine is available here. This video is long and cannot be paused. An earlier version is available, which is posted below in five parts.
Dr. Brownstein does a wonderful job in this video of demonstrating how terribly we have been misled and how important iodine is to our health. In case it was hard to hear, the recommended form is Lugol's iodine, which is a combination of both iodine and iodide. This can be found at some health food stores as well as on line.
Another video is produced by an herbalist, Tony Pantalleresco, who not only speaks of the benefits of proper iodine levels, but also tells how to make Lugol's iodine. His website is http://augmentinforce.50webs.com/.
