Another Look - Hideous City Council Farce

In the embedded video in the previous post, nearing the latter part, questions from reporters were allowed.  The second question and especially the answer given should be heard over and over.  Here is that snippet.

While it seems unlikely that the Councilwoman meant for this statement to reveal the actual mentality of the Council, sometimes things just come out from the heart without restraint.

Perhaps repeating the snippet five times was overdoing it a bit.  However, it does demonstrate how annoying and disheartening it is to hear this from them ad nauseam.  We hear this in their speeches, in their actions, and in the bills and taxes.

Drink this!

Drink this,
it’s good for you!

The American Dental Association and Wichitans for Healthy Teeth, keep calling me and telling me this.

It makes me very unhappy.

I don’t want to have Sodium Fluorosilicate or Sodium Silicofluoride or any other toxin added to my drinking and bathing water.  I don’t want my garden plants to be soaking up this toxin to grow in my vegetables.  I don’t want the birdies to which I give water to drink this either.

The ADA and the Witch-itans for toxic waste keep trying to convince the people that fluoridating the water is something that this good for us all and for the children.  They want us to believe that the warning labels that the FDA requires on toothpaste containers is unnecessary and that families should not be made to be overly concerned about fluoride ingestion of their little ones.

Add it to the water and drink it!  It is good for your teeth!

(It is bad for the environment, but don’t concern yourself about that.  It is a regulated toxic substance, but that should not concern you regarding the water that YOU and your CHILDREN drink.)

“Vote YES for fluoride!” they say.

They call people who warn against fluoride as a dangerous toxin LIARS.

But what about the labels that the companies who make and sell and distribute this stuff say?

Check out what Darwin Chemical says at Sodium Silicofluoride 99% technical Grade.

And see what Orca Chemicals says on their Safety Data Sheet.

And let’s see what Solvay Fluorides, LLC says on their Material Safety Data Sheet.

Shall we select and highlight the Darwin Chemical’s product description?

(Note what the listed applications are.)

FedGov Says There is Too Much Fluoride in Water

For a very brief time earlier this year the mainstream media actually reported this matter as in this video clip:

Of course, the full truth is not disclosed, and in fact a lie is embedded in what the Feds say.  In this video it is said: “The government says there’s no evidence fluoride causes serious illness.  The only concern for now is the potentially serious damage to children’s teeth.”

As anyone can read on ANY toothpaste carton, this is an outright lie.

Even in what is reported in this video, this is shown to be false.  First it is shared that it is causing serious bone damage and then it is said that there’s no evidence of causing serious illness.  And this is just the tip of the iceberg.

If one performs an Internet search for “fed gov says too much fluoride” Google shows “About 559,000 results”.  These results show that the mainstream coverage of this issue was very short lived.

Among the top results are:

FedGov Says There is Too Much Fluoride in Water - Fluorosis A Serious Problem

Too much fluoride in water, government says At MSNBC

U.S. says too much fluoride in water at USA Today

Officials Say Kids Getting Too Much Fluoride at NPR

Government says too much fluoride in water

The toxicity of fluoride and fluorine is well known.  It is a scientific fact.

The EPA has regulations controlling disposal of this toxic waste byproduct of industry.

Yet there exist proponents of putting this toxin in our drinking water and these propagandists are spending large amounts of money to convince the public that this is acceptable.

Fluoride is NOT an essential nutrient.  It is not required in our bodily functions.  This is well documented at:

Fluoride Is Not an Essential Nutrient.

According to the City of Wichita’s Frequently Asked Questions

The City's drinking water contains approximately 0.3mg/L (PPM) of naturally occurring fluoride.

From the MSNBC article linked to above:

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services is announcing a proposal to change the recommended fluoride level to 0.7 milligrams per liter of water. And the Environmental Protection Agency will review whether the maximum cutoff of 4 milligrams per liter is too high.

The standard since 1962 has been a range of 0.7 to 1.2 milligrams per liter.

So why is there a push for more fluoride in Wichita’s drinking water?  Wichita’s water already has .3mg/L of naturally occurring fluoride.  The new and improved federal level is a reduction to only .7mg/L of this poison.

Rather than adding this toxic substance to our drinking water we should be demanding that it be filtered from it.

Sadly, many families cannot afford to install effective filtration for their homes and so they and their children are being bombarded with this terrible toxin already.  So the proposed action is to add more of this poison to the water.

The EPA regulates how much fluoride a company is allowed to have in its effluent.  Additionally, sewage treatment plants are regulated concerning the levels of fluoride released into rivers.

Yet we are told that adding this substance to our drinking water is safe.

In our home we installed a reverse osmosis filtering system for our drinking water needs.  But what of the many families who do not know to do this or cannot afford to do this?  A reasonably priced one can be purchased and installed with minimal knowledge of plumbing, yet when families are struggling to afford even basic necessities, what then?

It is a very sad matter when those who have been entrusted with our protection are the very ones who are poisoning us.

Americans Enslaved Both to and through Apathy

According to Wichita: Population Profile, the total number of city residents for the year 2000 was 344,284. The age categories are listed by 5 year increments, but that still allows one to consider the primary voting age population of 20 years and older. Subtracting the numbers for those under 20, 102,704 from 344,284 leaves a total of 241,580 people of voting age. And this number does not count 18-19 year olds.

So out of 241,580 people, 26,305 voted in the February 28 special election regarding the City Council’s attempt to misdirect tax money for private gain. This is slightly less than 11 percent of those who could have voted.

What does this mean?

It seems to indicate at least three things.

  1. that the perception among the citizenry regarding whether their efforts can have a genuine and substantial impact upon the actions of the government and government leaders is becoming more negative
  2. that people are pressed so hard to fight for personal survival that fewer and fewer people are investing the time and effort required to make informed political decisions
  3. that fewer and fewer people believe that they are empowered to learn sufficiently the issues on which they would vote

During my activities earlier in the day I spoke with a number of people regarding the special election. I spoke to about a dozen people, small businessmen who serve the community with their businesses, intelligent businessmen who are well educated and hard workers. They all said that they did not know enough about the issue to vote responsibly. When I shared the details with them, details that were in the local paper and easily accessible on the Internet, they were appalled by the facts. They all were enraged by what was being done. Yet not one indicated an intention to go and vote against what they counted as being wrong. Not one.

Perhaps some did decide to go and vote. I hope so.

But what is wrong that less than 11% actually voted?

We receive no television broadcasts in our home. We no longer receive the newspaper because of the endless lies and misrepresentations in it. Yet I knew about this issue.

Why?

First, those who were seeking to steal the tax money kept calling me trying to convince me to vote in favor of it. These calls were of the type that I recognized as deceptive propaganda, simply by the language and approach utilized. This alone made me investigate.

But there were also billboards all over town. There were mailings of propaganda. There were radio advertisements. There were campaign lawn signs on the street corners.

What is happening that people no longer hear or see? How is it that people no longer perceive?

Is this merely apathy, or is this something more?

Representation Made Possible Through Efforts of the Vigilant

I was very pleasantly surprised by the this announcement at the KWCH 12 website:

(WICHITA, Kan.)—

After months of robo-calls, mailers and yard signs on both sides of the issue, Wichita voters voted no to giving the Ambassador Hotel a majority of the guest tax revenue it generates. Here's a look at the results:

No: 61% or 16,198 voters

Yes: 38% or 10,107 voters

To read the reported reactions of both sides after the election see:

Wichita votes down Ambassador Hotel tax incentive

"Vote No" group says hotel vote sends clear message

The article goes on to say:

Usually guest tax revenue generated by hotels goes directly to the Convention and Visitors Bureau. However, the incentive package approved by the Wichita City Council council would have allowed the developer to keep 75% of the guest tax to put back into the hotel.

Tuesday's special election means the guest tax generated at the hotel will be spent to promote tourism.

Wow! Imagine that! The tax will be used for the declared purpose instead of for personal gain (city council approved and legalized theft).

The vigilance of those who gathered the signatures on the petition to force this vote by which the city council was held accountable for their double dealing paid off. The people were made aware of this unethical handling of tax money so that they reacted and voted it down.

Imagine if the American people woke up and voted this way in the Republican primaries and caucuses! Imagine if they voted to nominate the only candidate who is calling for the Federal government to stop raping the nation and giving the people’s hard earned money to the globalist elite!

Could it happen?

I did not think that today’s special election would actually succeed. What a wonderful surprise to be proven wrong.

If it happens at the national level I will likely wonder whether I’m dreaming.

Taxation without Representation

Taxation without representation is alive and well in Wichita, Kansas. But that is the way in America, today.

Tomorrow we Wichitans have the extremely rare occasion of being able to vote against local corruption and deception.

A local group has fought hard against the big money of Wichita to try to keep a gross injustice from being perpetrated. The City Council has cheated and lied to us. These so-called leaders have given unfair precedence and favor to one developer and future local hotel owner over all the others.

A special sales tax that is supposed to go toward the promotion of Wichita and its businesses, a sales tax that all of the motels and hotels must charge to their customers, will be treated differently for this hotel. This hotel will be allowed to keep 75% of this tax while all the others must pay it to the city.

Is this fair?

Is it in any way right to pass a tax for a specific purpose and then use it for something else, to use it to promote one group of developers over everyone else?

Is this how we want to treat people who invest their own money in business in Wichita? Do we really want to penalize those who have invested in this area and depend upon fair business practices in order to survive?

For more information, visit Tax Fairness for All Wichitans.

A couple of weeks ago I prepared a much longer article on the details of this issue, but did not want to post it. The group, Tax Fairness for All Wichitans, has put the information together and posted at their web site. Do Wichita a favor and learn the facts and then vote against this unfair City Council action tomorrow, February 28th.

Liberty for All

This past evening I was wandering in the local hardware store and made a very disturbing discovery. To my dismay I observed this sign by the cans of spray paint.

I inquired whether I understood what I read. Indeed, a law has been passed in Wichita that makes it illegal to sell to minors and for minors to purchase a can of spray paint or a broad tipped marker.

Here is the link for Ordinance 48-803.

I was shocked to learn of this outrageous attack on the rights of the young people of this city. How many thousands of innocent young people are treated wrongfully by this ordinance?

Most adults probably count this as a “minor” thing.

But what can be done against one group can also be done to all. History has shown this repeatedly.

Certainly those who deface property not their own should be held accountable. But this law does not do this. It punishes and restricts the freedoms of all who are of a certain class, and who have no legal voice, no vote.

More than 40 million pre-born citizens have been silenced since 1973, having no voice, no vote of their own. 40,000,000! And this figure does not include the last 11 years.

Where does the injustice stop? Will it stop when it reaches our rights? Oops, it has been quite a while since I have gone to the airport or to the city hall or the county courthouse.

But if ye had known what this meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless. (Matthew 12:7)

Woe unto them that decree unrighteous decrees, and that write grievousness which they have prescribed; To turn aside the needy from judgment, and to take away the right from the poor of my people, that widows may be their prey, and that they may rob the fatherless! (Isaiah 10:1-2)

Oh that I could plead innocence! But how many times have I simply turned away saying, “What can I do?” And now, truly, what can I do? I suppose that I can continue to speak out. Most certainly I can proclaim God’s forgiveness and salvation in Christ to one and all.

Joshua Blick or the Same Old Game?

Before the primaries a man came by our house and shared with us his reasons for his candidacy for City Council. He was very personable and polite. He shared very common sense views and concerns. He asked permission to place one of his signs in our yard and we gladly assented.

His name is Joshua Blick.

During the campaign we have received flyers in the mail from both Josh and his opponent. Josh’s flyers tell about Josh and his views and concerns. His opponent’s flyers also tell about Josh and his views and concerns. Reading Josh’s opponent’s flyers filled me with concern and angst because according to these flyers Josh was an entirely different candidate than the man with whom I visited for nearly an hour in my living room.

I was quite distressed and on several occasions considered yanking Josh’s sign from my yard. But rather, I called him to ask from him whether I had heard him correctly when I visited with him.

The man with whom I spoke was indeed the same man that I had remembered. His views are what we discussed. The opponent’s propaganda is false propaganda.

Joshua Blick is a level headed man with enough years of experience in the world to know that the necessary changes in the city’s programs takes working with all of Wichita and cannot be solved by coming in like a tornado through the city. Josh has been visiting with people, with residents, with the local small business owners. He plans to continue visiting and listening. He has a view toward development of the entire city through pursuit of support of local business rather than seeking to steal business from other cities. His desire is to consult with local people to learn what they believe is beneficial rather than hiring outside consultants at exorbitant fees. His desire is to operate within the tax revenue rather than continually spending towards deeper indebtedness. He believes that the local businesses who will be prospering from new development should be the ones who fund the development, not taxpayers.

I am very glad that I did not let a premature reaction to false propaganda prejudice me against a worthy candidate. I am very glad that I did not allow the usual dirty politics to influence me as they were designed to do.

We really need to beware of candidates who operate in deceitful manners. If they are willing to lie to us to get elected, and if we vote for such people, how can we expect any other behavior after they are elected?

As for me, I will be voting for the man who came to my door and presented his good and solid ideas and who returned my phone call and gently and respectfully answered all of my questions.

If you would like to know what Joshua says rather than what his opponent claims that Joshua says, visit Josh’s web site at JoshuaBlick.com. His other contact information is provided at the web site.

As for me and my wife, we plan to support him with our vote, as we believe that his consistency in answering our questions is a far better index of his truthfulness and trustworthiness than propaganda sent to us by his opponent. We agree with the stands that we have heard Joshua declare as his own. Josh has not attacked anyone and says that he plans to continue simply to set forth his own views and beliefs regarding what is right and good for Wichita.

This is the kind of politics that I desire to support with my vote.

Perhaps you will agree.

Faith & VALUES

In the Wichita Eagle Saturday Edition, each week a section entitled Faith & VALUES is featured.

In this section all of the religions are included and placed on an equal par. Many faith representatives are featured.

Inside the section additional multiple choice faith related articles are included. Lately, the back page of the Faith & VALUES section features an article on pets. The last two pages of the inside portion of this section have the Comics with “Dear Abby”, “MY ANSWER/BILLY GRAHAM”, and “Horoscope” sandwiched between the columns of comics.

Does this amalgamation of topics and interests mean anything? Does it reflect upon the views of the paper and its editors and other staff? Does it reflect upon what is perceived as society’s approach to faith and values?

What about the churches and various religious groups? When they advertise in this same amalgamation of faith and values and when they participate together in voluntarily being represented in this amalgamation, what does this say of these churches and groups?

This most certainly says something. This most certainly is perceived in some way or other, in both awareness and unawareness, by those who receive the paper and see this amalgamation.

So what is being presented and what is perceived?

Curious questions, hey? Perhaps even comical.
