What is God’s Word?
St. John writes:
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
What is God’s Word? God’s Word is Jesus. When God wants us to know Him, He sends Jesus. When God wants us to receive His love and forgiveness and mercy, He sends Jesus.
When God created the world, He spoke it into existence and it was.
Jesus says:
And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God. (Revelation 3:14)
Jesus is the one through whom all things exist. He is the beginning of the creation of God. He is father time. He is the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last. He is.
Of this one the Father says, “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.”
When the Spirit speaks to the churches, He directs us to Jesus to hear Him and His words.
Jesus is our God and Savior. He is our light and our life. He is the Gospel. He is our everything. End of story!

You are right about the greatest gift. As for the covanent marriage, it eliminates divorce and this was our way of telling each other and those around us that we will not separate. We agreed that the D word would not be mentioned.
I guess we sometimes over look the big gift of God because we don't have to work for it. Where as a marriage requires work. Thanks for your comments, please vist me again!
Hi Jeff,
I certainly don't want to undermine what God has started for you. You and your bride have a wonderfully blessed life ahead of you in Christ Jesus.
The thing is, divorce cannot be prevented by the Law--by contracts. Divorce, as the Lord Jesus told those who challenged Him on this matter, is a matter of the heart. Divorce happens in the heart when people allow the love of God to be shoved aside by their own desires and "feelings."
Many people have been divorced for years, even though they never separated legally. When the divorce is ratified by legal action, it is only because the couple allowed divorce into their hearts and minds in the first place. So the best thing is never to allow it a place in the heart or mind at all, rather, turning to the love of God in Christ as one in Him.
I realize that is your intention. However, when the sinful nature begins to rear up in us, good intentions seem to evaporate. So remember the one on whom all hope is secured, and flee to Him where He has promised to be found. Then, your fights and your disagreements will always end well, in true oneness in Him.
Peace to you in Christ Jesus.
